inspiration from where

so when running out of ideas for make up, people flock to other items for inspirations. my boyfriend bought me flowers yesterday so i thought id use it as my inspiration. these are the flowers he bought me, so cute.

then the look i created. there is light pink, dark pink and orange on the lid, and then yellow on the bottom lash line.

the finished look with the flowers. love it so much.

i recommended the next time, you're having trouble trying to come up with something. just look round the house or at the shops for inspiration, take a photo and create something. or even if your not having trouble, just give it a go anyway.

look after your skin in summer

It’s not said enough, SUNSCREEN! This should be an essential part of your everyday skin care, not only in summer. But I’m still going to say it, apply sunscreen to all the exposed areas before you even think about stepping outside. The only different between summer and winter with UV rays is that you show more skin during summer than in winter so there is more to cover. After you get out of the shower in the morning on a summer day, before you get dressed into shorts and a singlet, apply sunscreen everywhere, this way you won’t miss anyway. Remember to play every 1 – 2 hours if you’re swimming or sweating. This isn’t as necessary in winter fortunately. In saying that, buy a new sunscreen every season.

Your body is constantly shedding skin cells so it’s important to keep that under control otherwise it will look dry and dull. Use a gentle exfoliant on your face every 2 days a week for dry skins and 3 days a week for oily skins. Ensure that it isn’t too harsh on the skin as it may end up damaging the acid mantle or causing broken capillaries. Use a body scrub on your body once a week, ensuring you apply lotion afterwards as this is the best time for it to soak into the fresh skin. Continue to use lofah gloves each time you shower with your body wash and this helps to slowly exfoliate away those dead skin cells and keep your skin smooth all year round.

If you want to be tanned for summer, I beg you… Please don’t cover yourself in coconut oil and lay out in the sun like they use to do. Get a professional spray or invest in a good at home spray or lotion. Find one that has had good reviews and works best for you. You’ll thank yourself when you’re older as it will slow down aging and lower your skin cancer risk.

Don’t forget to keep your lips protected, during winter they can become cracked from the wind. During summer, they can become cracked due to the heat and sun damage. Ensure you are constantly applying a lip balm or gloss that has at least SPF 15+ in it, this will help to keep them protected and moisturised.

Remember to drink your 8 glasses of water, more if needed to help keep your skin hydrated as well as your body. It’s a lot easier to lose fluid through perspiration during the hotter weather and your skin is the last organ to experience the benefits of hydration.

If you have drier skin, it is important to keep your skin moisturised and ensure that you are using the right sort. It should absorb well and not leave an oily layer and should contain antioxidants to protect your skin from UV rays and free radicals.

Try to op for a light foundation or tinted moisturiser during the summer months and keep your make up natural. Use a waterproof eyeliner and mascara if you intend to be spending your time in the sun or in the water. If you are sweating off your makeup, don’t rub or wipe it but dab it with wipes that are made for soaking up sweat but not rubbing off the makeup. Also powder your foundation before applying other products.

playing with green

i like how green brings out my blues eye, i played with it a bit today. ignore my gross freakly face, i hate freakles. :(

add eyeliner on the lash line as well as where the eyeshadow ends, to give it a bit of an edge. mix a bright green shadow with a purply pink lipstick for something different.

add pink on the brow bone, plus a light pink blush and bold pink lips to give the green a softer and not so outstanding effect.

Beauty New Years Resolutions

So it’s coming to the end of the year and every seems to make a new years resolution that they don’t ever seem to keep. “I will lose that last 10 pounds” “I will exercise more” “I will quit smoking” Well i hope you don’t smoke at all cause major factor in pre mature aging. But instead of looking at the bigger things why don’t we just start with the smaller things for a change? Here’s a few ideas they you may want to consider: all linked to making yourself that much more beautiful at any age.
Drink more water for a healthier body; as well as eating more foods rich in water. Eg: cucumber
Wear SPF 30 every day, whether its hailing, boiling and just a nice day.
Take a multivitamin right for my body everyday.
I will stop wearing my make up to bed, no matter how tired or drunk I am.
I will clean my brushes regularly. Try to do it at least every 2 weeks and it should be done straight after you have used them on someone else.
Clean my phone regularly with an alcohol swipe, why? Because all the bacteria built up on the phone can cause breakouts on the side of your jaw.
Find an eye cream suited to my skin type and apply it morning and night.
Use a salt scrub on my body once a week, make a scrub at home because it’s a lot cheaper than buying from the salon.
Start using a spray leave in treatment on hair regularly, at least once a week though try for more often.
Mix up my exercising so I don’t get bored, regular try to find new ways to get fit.

You can add whatever ones would be suitable to yourself and try to review it every couple weeks to ensure that you’re continuing throughout the new years. Remember it takes 21 days to develop a habit, so let’s use that first part of the month to develop new good habits.

your skin

made myself another goal, it is to have summarised what i know about the largest organ of the body into a simple little 'assignment' if you'd like to call it that, by the end of the year. which shall be interesting. cause i do have a few things coming up, hopefully going away to nowra. so i'll have to squeeze it in between everything. but basically i want to bring to you, in a shorter version. what is the skin? what parts are important to know and what you need to do about it to keep it looking good. :)

whats your age group?

so how old you are depends on what you need to do with your skin, and how you need to look after it. though we can't turn back time. it is best to start at a young age so if you can start early.. if not, well dont think that what you do now won't help cause believe me it will.

20s - the most important thing to do at this age is SUNSCREEN. so start protecting your neck, hands, chest as well as your face. If you're likly to stay up all hours of the night drinking and smoking, kick start anti aging by using a serum at night that contains vitamin C to help fight free radical damage.

30s - as you get older you skin only exfoliate every 35 days naturally instead of every 14 in your 20s. so this is why its important for you to exfoliate two to three times a week. If you have drier skin, twice a week is fine, if its more oily, then three times a week will help. Add a retinoid to your skin care routine at night to help improve your overall texature

40s - lines of movement aren't going away as easily as they did in your 30s, so you'll need to add moisture and collagen-building ingredients into your routine. Peptides is an ingredient group that is helpful to rebuild collagen assisting in hiding those lines.

50s - Loss of tone and sagging are the biggest issues, consider talking to your skin care therapist about laser treatments and other non-evasive or evasive skin rejuvenation options. Ensure your using a peptide and retinoid.

As you get older, don't take away the fact you need to use sunscreen. You should be protecting your skin and your children's skin from day one, this will be your best tip to slow down the aging clock as well as avoid skin cancer.

got milk?

To help reduce redness on your face, soak a clean washcloth in cold milk and place it over your face for 10 minutes. "Milk contains proteins, fat, amino acids, and vitamin A--all of which reduce redness and calm irritated skin," says David Bank, MD, a dermatologist in Mount Kisco, NY. Bonus: The lactic acid in milk exfoliates, so skin looks soft and glowing.

wedding make up

my first wedding make up was done on the weekend for the beautiful bron, who was getting married to richard. im hoping to get a couple of the professional photos, but these are some of the ones of took on my camera, prior.

extra make up tips

To maximize your mascara, wipe the brush with dry paper towel every fortnight to keep it performing like new, loosen the formal by running the tube under water with the lid closed and don’t ever pump the mascara as it dries it out.
It is best to start apply mascara at the base of your lashes and work your way up.
For a more natural looking make up, use products with water in them as their first ingredient such as light weight foundations and tinted moisturisers.
Your lips get dryer with age, but tinted balms and lipsticks bring back moisturise and 75% of women say that lipstick boost their confidence
Define your eyes with a waterproof eyeliner if glitter and mascara irritates your eyes.
To look good in photos, overdose in mascara, contour under your cheek bones and underneath the chin and lighter powder down the centre of the face to highlight.

quick note on your toes

Remember to take care of your feet, have a weekly soak and scrub especially if you spend hours on them. Daily scrubbing can be healthy for your feet especially if they don’t see the light of day during winter, take some time to push back cuticles as well.

Toe nails should be clipped short and filed in a square shape to prevent ingrown nails, treat any fungal or peeling that occurs, as well as ensuring you were shoes in a shower that’s not your own. Avoid letting the professionals cut your cuticle, you want to steer clear of any infections.

beauty myths and their facts

There is no collagen cream that can replace the loss of collagen in your skin. We lose the collagen through aging, sun rays and cigarette smoke, pollution and stress and it can be only stimulate or replace by injections, no creams.

Mixing two sunscreens to get a higher protection doesnt work, you're better off using a sunscreen with a high SPF in the first place.

That pot of salon wax isn't sanitary, it's like double-dipping. Your putting germs back into the pot, so if you see a therapist go to double dip, tell her to use a new stick every time. Or maybe you should find a better salon.

Shaving against the hair growth gives you a closer shave. Though if you are prone to ingrowns, it's best to shave in the direction of grows as it prevents the bumps.

Blackheads are not caused by debris build on your skin, if this were the case washing your face regularly would help this. They are actually caused by oil and slouched-off skin cells getting trapped in the follicle on the way to the skin's surface which forms a plug that fills the pore and appears dark in colour. Use a saylicle acid to remove these.

You'd think that post wax exfoliation aggravates the skin but gently exfoliating the top layer is essential for prevention of ingrown hairs. Just use something gentle for the next three days to not cause too much iritation .

Apply vitamin C topically can help produce more collagen by stimulating collagen synthesis which can help reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture. Use it on your face, neck, decollete, arms and hands.

Having sex does help fight aging, the hormones that are released during and after sex are anti-inflammatory and fight aging and stress hormones.

There is something you can do with creepy skin, the topical peptides can help improve the appearance.

Caffefine in beauty products can perk up your skin. This ingredient is known to repair stretch marks and fine lines by vasoconstricting or closing blood vessels, temporarily helps reduce the apperance of sagging, and puffy skin.

Nail files do need santising whether they are metal or cardboard, they can potentially carry deadly bacteria, fungus and yeast. Ensure that they are rubbed with an alcohol wipe after each use.

Sun damage is the main culprit for skin aging, about 80 percent. Overexposure to the sun can break down collagen and elastin in skin and cause more wrinkles and pigmentation to occur.

Eye drops don't always make your eyes look brighter, because if you overuse them they are prone to cause more redness. As you are vasoconstricting the blood vessels to cause the eyes to look white, if you over-constrict them you can have rebound redness.

Botox and fillers are two seperate things that lessen the apperance of wrinkles. Botox relaxes the muscles that is creating the wrinkle whereas fillers fill in the wrinkle with product.

Toothpaste isn't a safe way to get rid of pimples, while it is helpful in drying out pimples, the fluoride can actually burn your skin. Instead mix a little cornstatch and water and dab it overnight.

Having a vegetarian diet can help prevent aging further as eating a mostly plant-based diet is an important factor for your internal health from your diet to your stress level.

Oil isn't the best moisturiser for dry skin, as the cause of most dry skin is under-exfoliating; if you dont get rid of the dead skin cells on top then oil won't penetrate pass the dead skin cells and may clog pores and cause other problems. The best thing to do is exfoliate then use a moisturiser with hyaluronic acid which draws water in or primrose oil which prevents water loss.

Shaving does not affect the thickness of your hair, that is determine by genetics and what's happening in the follicles deep beneath your skin. Shaving causes the hair to be more blunt therefore re-growth is more obvious and feels course to touch.

Wearing too much make up can actually make you look older instead of the making you look younger. If you are aging avoid powders, instead use sunscreen, some blush and do up the lips and eyes a bit.

DIY hair care from your pantry

Apple Cider Vinegar - It's a great way to detox your hair, as it works brilliantly to cleanse and remove build up. Pour one cup over your hair once a week before shampooing.

Beer - Although you may smell like a bar, the proteins found in beer work to smooth the ridged and chipped cuticles of your hair. After you have shampooed and conditionered your hair, rinse it with a dark stout beer. Do this once a month

Chamomile Tea - Feeling dull? Chamomile Tea adds shine and brightness to your hair without damaging it, as well as relieves any itchiness. After brewing a cup of tea, put the leftover tea bags and lukewarm water into a spray bottle. Shampoo and conditioner as normal, then spray on the mixture. Comb it through with a wide tooth comb and dry your hair in the sun. You can use the mixture once a week without causing any damage.

Olive Oil - Want softer, silker hair? massage olive oil into your scalp and down the lengths of your hair, and then wrap your hair in a warm towel for half an hour. The oil will add mositure to your locks, leaving them smooth and shiny.

Pumpkin - A homemade mask is wonderful for mositurising and rehydrating your hair. Cut a small pumpkin into quaters, boil for 20 mins, then mash. Add a cup of plain yoghurt and mix well. Apply to your hair and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes before using shampoo and conditioner as usual.

beat the bloat

Check out the following cheat sheet to beat the bloat.

Culprits:
Carbonated drinks: many people blame carbohydrate-rich foods like bread and pasta for bloating, when it fact, some of the biggest causes are carbonated drinks, such as soft drink, sparkling water and beer.
Fruits and vegetables: these, which are regarded as healthy foods can also contribute to gas accumulation in the stomach and the large intestine, resulting in a bloating effect and discomfort in the abdomen. Some of the worst offenders are broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, apples and pears.
High-fat foods: also big culprits when it comes to feeling sluggish and weighed down. The high-sugar, high-fat foods you find in take-away outlets often don’t digest as well as healthier foods and can contribute to stomach discomfort immensely.
Overeating: finish eating before you start to feel too full! Remember, your food keeps digesting after you stop eating, so if you’re still eating when you feel full, it’s only going to feel worse in 10 minutes time.

Cures:
Drinking water: though it sounds pretty obvious, drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day can help to pass food through your system more efficiently, leaving less time for bloating.
Eating slowly: rushing your food causes it to all digest at around the same time – which means you’ll start to feel full all at once and probably feel some discomfort.
Herbal tea: herbal teas like chamomile and peppermint tea have been proven effective in treating bloating at the source. Both are known to be used as relaxants to calm the nervous system, soothe gastrointestinal disorders, and ease menstrual cramps.
Metamucil: this supplement works in five different ways to assist your body in feeling healthier. Made from 100 per cent natural fibre, it works to cleanse your insides, help your body’s detox process, and in turn make you feel lighter and more active. It also helps to maintain healthy cholesterol levels – all you need is a tablespoon with juice each day!
Activia yoghurt: containing Bifidus ActiRegularis, when consumed daily it helps to reduce digestive discomfort such as bloating and gas accumulation. Activia yoghurt also contains no gelatin, so you won’t feel heavy or sluggish!

just having a nail art moment

some nail art that i adore, these aren't my work but i dont remember where from. apologizes.

12 of the worst things you can do to your hair

Not getting regular hair cuts - YOu will end up with quite bad spilt ends which you'll end up needing to cut off anyway and your hair will start to look obviously overgrown and thats not a look you wanna go for.

Washing your hair everday - It can be good for your hair to get a break from daily washing, drying and styling. Skipping the shampoo on occasion will help colour stay richer. Try every other day washing and if your hair looks oily on day 2 use a tad a dry shampoo or hair powder on the roots.

Using too much conditioner - If you use too much product on your hair, it will build up and cause the hair to look dull and lifeless. Only apply the conditioner to the ends of your hair

Overheating your hair - You may be literally burning your hair, to protect your hair use a something to specific protect from the heat

Fighting your hair's natural texture - There's wrong with trying to straighten or curl your hair, but if its humid outside you may just want to leave it at it natural state because the second you walk outside it will turn back to it.

Choosing the wrong styling products for your hair type - You need to select the right hair products so that your hair will look its best just like you choose products for your skin type.

Thinking that more is better - Even if you're using the right product, using too much can still ruin your look and it can actually make your hair harder to style. Start with as little as possible and add more as you go.

Pulling your hair back with any elastic - Ensure that its covered without any metal showing as one thats not (including an elastic band from your draw) will snag in your hair causing breakage and possibly even pulling hair out from the root.
Getting stuck in a style rut - Take a look at photos from 10 years ago and then look in the mirror, if your hair looks the same, your in need of a change. it doesnt mean that you have to make a major change either

Brushing your hair too much - The old advice about giving your hair one hundred stokes a night is not a recipe for healthy hair. It leaves hair more vunlnerable to breakage and brush wet hair is never a good idea. Though just a quick brush once or twice a hair is healthy for the scalp and using a wide tooth comb after you get out of the shower.

Ignoring the health of your scalp - If the folllicles aren't keep clean and healthy, then you won't produce healthy strong hair. Treating it well can simply include giving it a little extra massage everytime you wash your hair to stimulate it and making sure you wash off all residue as it could clog the follicles.

Pulling out your grey hairs - Pulling it out will make it grow back wiry and because it will be short, it will stick up straight. so your better off going for a rich colour hair dye to cover up the greys.

quick age defying hair tips

As you get older, your hair starts to dry out and get dull. Begin to pay more attention than you would have in the past and you may not have to cut off your locks. Get short layers instead of keeping it the one length and invest in a good conditioner and get regularly trims. Apply a leave in conditioner on a regular basis and avoid products with alcohols that dry and damage your hair.

When you are dying your hair at home, focus on the roots and leave the dye on this section for the full length of time. Then run the rest of the dye through the rest of the hair for the last 5 to 10 minutes.
Dont choose the wrong colour for your skin tone, women often go too dark for their skin tone and it draws attention to wrinkles, looks severe and can make the skin more sallow. Golden colours make hair and facial features softer and younger.

Habits that Skinny People live by.

How do those people that have lost the weight stay thin? Well they live by these habits to help them keep the weight off and you can start when you’re trying to loose weight.

Eat an early dinner - stop eating at least 3 yrs before bed and your body is better primed to burn fat instead of creating more.

Weigh yourself daily - It is believed that those who get on the scales daily lost twice as much weight as someone whp weighed themselves less often.

Eat a boring diet - the novelty of new foods drives us to consume more, so by removing the novelty, we feel fuller faster.

Reward yourself - once you have established a healthy routine, you need to establish a reward sysem. A great way to stick to a low-calorie diet is to reward yourself with a small dessert everyday that is less than 200 calories, but remember its only if you deserve it.

Read diet and exercise tips - being exposed to nutrition and exercise advice led people to make smarter diet and lifestyle choices for themselves. To ensure you stay focused, read information on these sorts of things daily if you can.

Eat breakfast - it's not called the most important meal of the day for nothing - eating a nutritious morning meal jumpstarts your metabolism and prevents you from overindulging throughout the day.

Take snack breaks - snacking somethings get a bad rep, but planning nutritious snacks throughout the day can actually keep you skinny. Consuming low-sugar, high-protein snacks promotes weight loss. The reason: healthy snacking keeps your blood-sugar from spiking, prevents hungers pangs, craving and body fat storage.

Drink water - In a study of women who added 1 litre of water to their diet daily lost five extra pounds over the year. Replace half of what you drink with water and you'll save 23 pounds per year!

Order one item - Resist the temptation of ordering a 'value' meal and only order the one thing, you'll save cash and calories

Choose whole grains - Those who add whole grains to their diet loose more belly fat than those who don't. The healthy dose of fibre helps slow digestion: keeping you fuller for longer.

Eat spicy food - A chemical compound called capsaicin, found in chili peppers, acts as an appetite suppressant. Capsaicin has also been shown to boost metabolism and fight inflammation. The take away: Routinely adding spicy ingredients like cayenne or red pepper to your meals is an easy, flavorful way to stay slim.

Sleep for 6 to 8 hours each night - lack of sleep is known to increased appetite, lower willpower, and bolster cravings for high-calorie foods

Manage stress - Deal with work, money and relationship related stress can lead to weight gain. When you stress, your body releases cortisol, a hormone that promotes abdominal fat storage. If you find yourself overwhelmed in your work or personal life, try incorporating stress-reducing activities into your day. Join a yoga class or go for a jog, and when you start to feel stress coming on, pause and take deep breaths.

Take the stairs - Simple choices like taking the stairs can be just as important as formal exercise if you want to stay trim

Chew throughly - chewing more and eating slowly causes people to ingest fewer calories.

Dont eat on the go as it can lead you to quickly inhale a ton of calories before your body has time to let you know it's full.

Walk after meals - take a walk after dinner as light post-meal exercise can lower your blood sugar and prevent your body from storing fat.

Keep healthy food on hand - Surround yourself with healthy options, store nuts or fresh fruit, pre-cut vegies and leave in the fridge to snack on.

Learn to take a joke - laughing for 15 minutes each day can help you burn 10 to 40 calories, depending on your body size and the intensity of your laughter.

Eat protein - those that increase their protein intake to 30 percent of their overall diet ate roughly 450 fewer calories throughout the day and lost about 11 pounds of he course of 12 week.

Avoid dinner distractions - With laptops, smartphones, and iPods aplenty, we've become accustomed to round-the-clock entertainment. But your mealtime may be one time of day we should fight our addiction to amusement. With these distractions, its found that they consume more unhealthy snack foods later.

healthier hair..

Want healither hair? Here's a few simple tips to help you get there.

Remove product build up and hard water depoists that makes hair look dull. Rinsing your hair with apple cider vinegar is a good home remedy. Mix one part vinegar and five parts water into a spray bottle and apply it to your scalp. RUb it in until it gets fizzy then rinse clean with cool water. Follow with a light conditioner and your hair will feel soft and look shiny.

Hydrate hair after sun exposure and the best way to do this is with a hair mask. Crush a little bit of rosemary, sage and fenugreek seeds and put into a cheesecloth. Tie the cheesecloth and steep in hot water for 10 minutes. Next warm the olive oil on the stovetop, add herbs and blend well. Once it has cooled, apply to scalp and massage in. Wrap your hair in a towel and leave for 20 to 30 minutes, then shampoo out.

If you've got dry, dull, and colour-faded hair, try a lemongrass oil mask. Lemongrass oil does wonders for hair as it goes into the cortex of the follicle, filling the shaft and leaving your hair silky and shiny.

If your hair isn't looking any better after that, it may be time for for a hair cut. Only cut off a cm if you dont want to shorten your length, and try to get it done regularly.
