keratin hair treatment.

My hairdresser that owns Keziah's Mobile Hairdressing has done the Guava Keratin Hair Treatment in my hair. It is a specially formulated revitalising and rejuvenating treatment for the hair
that eliminates frizz. The formulation restores and restructures hair by infusing a natural blend of keratin deep into the cuticle. Which has helped my hair to become more managerable and take much less time to style. It will be noticeably softer and straighter with added life and shine.

My hair is not curly or wavy, but its not straight either. Whenever I have my hair out, i always straighten it because I dont like how little bits are always out of place. This constant straightening is doing more damage then good to my hair. Causing dry brittle ends and spilt ennds which just arent pretty.

Beauty New Years Resolutions

So it’s coming to the end of the year and every seems to make a new years resolution that they don’t ever seem to keep. “I will lose that last 10 pounds” “I will exercise more” “I will quit smoking” Well i hope you don’t smoke at all cause major factor in pre mature aging. But instead of looking at the bigger things why don’t we just start with the smaller things for a change? Here’s a few ideas they you may want to consider: all linked to making yourself that much more beautiful at any age.
Drink more water for a healthier body; as well as eating more foods rich in water. Eg: cucumber
Wear SPF 30 every day, whether its hailing, boiling and just a nice day.
Take a multivitamin right for my body everyday.
I will stop wearing my make up to bed, no matter how tired or drunk I am.
I will clean my brushes regularly. Try to do it at least every 2 weeks and it should be done straight after you have used them on someone else.
Clean my phone regularly with an alcohol swipe, why? Because all the bacteria built up on the phone can cause breakouts on the side of your jaw.
Find an eye cream suited to my skin type and apply it morning and night.
Use a salt scrub on my body once a week, make a scrub at home because it’s a lot cheaper than buying from the salon.
Start using a spray leave in treatment on hair regularly, at least once a week though try for more often.
Mix up my exercising so I don’t get bored, regular try to find new ways to get fit.

You can add whatever ones would be suitable to yourself and try to review it every couple weeks to ensure that you’re continuing throughout the new years. Remember it takes 21 days to develop a habit, so let’s use that first part of the month to develop new good habits.

12 of the worst things you can do to your hair

Not getting regular hair cuts - YOu will end up with quite bad spilt ends which you'll end up needing to cut off anyway and your hair will start to look obviously overgrown and thats not a look you wanna go for.

Washing your hair everday - It can be good for your hair to get a break from daily washing, drying and styling. Skipping the shampoo on occasion will help colour stay richer. Try every other day washing and if your hair looks oily on day 2 use a tad a dry shampoo or hair powder on the roots.

Using too much conditioner - If you use too much product on your hair, it will build up and cause the hair to look dull and lifeless. Only apply the conditioner to the ends of your hair

Overheating your hair - You may be literally burning your hair, to protect your hair use a something to specific protect from the heat

Fighting your hair's natural texture - There's wrong with trying to straighten or curl your hair, but if its humid outside you may just want to leave it at it natural state because the second you walk outside it will turn back to it.

Choosing the wrong styling products for your hair type - You need to select the right hair products so that your hair will look its best just like you choose products for your skin type.

Thinking that more is better - Even if you're using the right product, using too much can still ruin your look and it can actually make your hair harder to style. Start with as little as possible and add more as you go.

Pulling your hair back with any elastic - Ensure that its covered without any metal showing as one thats not (including an elastic band from your draw) will snag in your hair causing breakage and possibly even pulling hair out from the root.
Getting stuck in a style rut - Take a look at photos from 10 years ago and then look in the mirror, if your hair looks the same, your in need of a change. it doesnt mean that you have to make a major change either

Brushing your hair too much - The old advice about giving your hair one hundred stokes a night is not a recipe for healthy hair. It leaves hair more vunlnerable to breakage and brush wet hair is never a good idea. Though just a quick brush once or twice a hair is healthy for the scalp and using a wide tooth comb after you get out of the shower.

Ignoring the health of your scalp - If the folllicles aren't keep clean and healthy, then you won't produce healthy strong hair. Treating it well can simply include giving it a little extra massage everytime you wash your hair to stimulate it and making sure you wash off all residue as it could clog the follicles.

Pulling out your grey hairs - Pulling it out will make it grow back wiry and because it will be short, it will stick up straight. so your better off going for a rich colour hair dye to cover up the greys.

quick age defying hair tips

As you get older, your hair starts to dry out and get dull. Begin to pay more attention than you would have in the past and you may not have to cut off your locks. Get short layers instead of keeping it the one length and invest in a good conditioner and get regularly trims. Apply a leave in conditioner on a regular basis and avoid products with alcohols that dry and damage your hair.

When you are dying your hair at home, focus on the roots and leave the dye on this section for the full length of time. Then run the rest of the dye through the rest of the hair for the last 5 to 10 minutes.
Dont choose the wrong colour for your skin tone, women often go too dark for their skin tone and it draws attention to wrinkles, looks severe and can make the skin more sallow. Golden colours make hair and facial features softer and younger.

odd notes to remember

Bath in milk or red wine to hydrate your skin from top to toe.
Use peppermint oil to plump lips
Pour cranberry juice over hair to boost the colour.
Olive oil can be used for smooth hands and cuticles or in a bath for silky skin or as a conditioner. run through your hair, put your hair up in a towel in 20 mins and shampoo off.
Water and milk into a facial spray to keep skin hydrated.
Rub strawberries over teeth to get rid of surface's stains and whiten them
Use a conditioner as shaving cream if you're run out of the normal stuff.
Vaseline can be used as lipglouss, lip balm, make up remover, under eye moisturiser, foot and hand cream, mix it wif left over lipstick and turn to lipgloss.

Hopefully they are helpful. :)

healthier hair..

Want healither hair? Here's a few simple tips to help you get there.

Remove product build up and hard water depoists that makes hair look dull. Rinsing your hair with apple cider vinegar is a good home remedy. Mix one part vinegar and five parts water into a spray bottle and apply it to your scalp. RUb it in until it gets fizzy then rinse clean with cool water. Follow with a light conditioner and your hair will feel soft and look shiny.

Hydrate hair after sun exposure and the best way to do this is with a hair mask. Crush a little bit of rosemary, sage and fenugreek seeds and put into a cheesecloth. Tie the cheesecloth and steep in hot water for 10 minutes. Next warm the olive oil on the stovetop, add herbs and blend well. Once it has cooled, apply to scalp and massage in. Wrap your hair in a towel and leave for 20 to 30 minutes, then shampoo out.

If you've got dry, dull, and colour-faded hair, try a lemongrass oil mask. Lemongrass oil does wonders for hair as it goes into the cortex of the follicle, filling the shaft and leaving your hair silky and shiny.

If your hair isn't looking any better after that, it may be time for for a hair cut. Only cut off a cm if you dont want to shorten your length, and try to get it done regularly.

wacky beauty tips

Those random tips that you've heard along the way and whether they actually work or not, well here's are some that do actually work for you.

You hairline is starting to look a bit greasy? Get a fluffy make up brush, dip it into loose powder or use baby powder. Remove the excess by tapping it once and then dust it over your roots. It soaks up the oil and blends into your strands.

Spray a light shot fragrance into the bristles of your brush and run it through the strands of your hair and it will smell amazing throughout the day.

Soften Calluses by applying vaseline/petroleum jelly on your feet and put socks on, leaving them on overnight.

Avocado is a natural moisturiser, take a ripe avocado, remove the pit and skin and mash it up in a bowl. Smooth it over your body and let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse off.

Wild Eyebrows? Tame the with an eye cream to keep them in place, hydrate them and banish icky white specks. Or you can spray hair spray onto an eyebrow brush to control them.

Trying to get your streaky tan off? Put some baking soda on to a pair of loofah exfoliating gloves and scrub away.

Comb vaseline lightly through the tips of your eyelashes to get a sexy, subtle sparkle with having to cake on the mascara.

Ran out of shaving cream? Do double duty by coating your stems with a thick hair conditioner. It softens the hair so it’s easier to shave off and makes legs feel amazingly silky.

If your underarms start to look dry and flaky, an easy trick is to exfoliate them with a gentle face scrub to keep that skin pretty when going sleeveless.

Make an Egg White Mask To revive tired, dull skin without hitting the spa table, try this: Crack open an egg in a bowl, separate the yolk, and use the egg whites to make a face mask. The proteins help to heal and restore skin’s moisture. Leave it on for five minutes, and rinse off.

coffee in your hair & avocado + oatmeal clay mask

So today i thought i would try a little experiment, one of which ive seen on the internet and thought i would put it to the test. now, according to a website brewing up 2 strong cups of coffee and pouring it over your hair once you have shampooed and rinsed, darken the hue of brunette hair. and im always hating on the lights bits in my hair but i wont dye it cause i want it all back to my natural colour. (yeap, im slowly getting there) anyway, conducted the experiment with pictures and all. starting off with my dry hair before anything happened.

ignore how messy my hair is, i did brush it but it was up in a bun so wasn't gonna work unless i wet it and i didnt wanna do that just yet. in the image you can see the lighter sections of my hair where i use to have blonde hair (and just nevermind about that, horrible idea. -_- ) and they just annoy me, hence the experiment. secondly, an image of my hair wet before the coffee.

again even though my hair is wet and therefore looks darker, you can see bit of highlights and it overall looks lighter. then well i jumped in the shower. shampoo my hair as normal, rinse out the shampoo and pour the coffee over my hair. and let me stay, you defiantely have to do this in the shower such a messy idea, there was coffee everywhere. normally you would tie up your hair and cover it with a shower cap but i do not own any shower caps so i hopped out of the shower, tied up my hair and wrap a dark towel around my hair. i also used this time to put an avocado & oatmeal face mask on, which ill talk about later.

i know, i look so attractive in this picture. it makes me LOL. waited around 10 minutes, probably more and jumped back into the shower. rinse off the mask and the coffee out of my hair which by now was smelling quite like coffee. then conditioned my hair as normal and made sure all that was rinsed out. towel dryer my hair and giving it a brush and with my hair still wet it came out with this result.

and then i looked back at the wet hair before and i was like it does look like the highlights are gone but this could be due to the lighting or maybe my hair was a bit wetter, i dont really know. i wasn't going to get too excited just yet. then i had to wait a while cause i waited for my hair to dry naturally. once it was dry, we had this result.

i think the results may look different cause of the lighting change as there was 2 hours between each photo. and i had product in my before picture. i do believe it darken a little bit from the two wet hair pictures but you can't see that in the after photo, but make your own decision i guess. im a bit bummed it didnt work out better. now that avocado & oatmeal face mask i used was a mask ive had for a while before i knew much about what's good for the skin and what's not. The freeman clay mask is meant to purge pores, firm and smoothe your skin. and afterwards i felt my skin was defiantely smoother though i did feeling a bit of tingling when it was on my face (could just be my own skin)

that was my thought before i read a review from someone else and they found that it tingle around the sides of nose and some parts of the face (so im normal, phew) and its best to let it dry completely, i only left it on for 10 minutes and it wasn't completely dry but i was running out of time. and it has known to be good to dab on a blemish overnight (but not the whole name) and do this for a couple nights and bye bye blemish. so therefore i would recommend this face mask to those with clogged pores and oily skin, though if you have dry skin i would avoid it as it could excessively dry your skin. stay away from clay mask in general, they're made for those with oily skin. but i would recommend you make your own choice on the coffee to darken hue of brunette, im going to keep trying to often to see if the result improve at all and if they do ill be posting about it. if i never do, well you know why ;) oh and aussie aussie aussie oui oui oui. just the shirt i decided to wear.

hair is normally a girl's best asset.

Normally, a girl would say her best asset is her hair, so here's a few general hair tips to help you along the way.

If you’re attempting to grow out your hair, get regular trims and use a leave-in conditioner to prevent breakage.

Every 2 weeks, clean your brushes by soaking them in warm, soapy water for a few minutes. Afterwards you are to rinse & air day the brushes. Remove any hair left in the brush before hand.

If you are prone to having dandruff, avoid scratching your head it causes more flakes and you may end up with wounds on your head caused by your fingernails. Shower away the sweat after exercising as sweat irritates skin and speeds up the flaking of the skin cells on your body.

If you have oily hair, make sure that the shampoo is thoroughly rinsed and forget conditioners unless you need it, apply a small amount to the ends of your hair. Try not to brush your hair too much either as it brings the oils from your scalp throughout your hair giving your hair the oily look.
For oily hair, use two tablespoons of white vinegar mixed with one cupful of water. Spray onto the hair and comb through. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.

To cleanse your hair of shampoo residue and other impurities, combine 1 cup of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of dried rosemary. Put the mixture in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds and leave to cool. Apply to hair after shampooing, leave on for 2 minutes and rinse out with cool water.
